Volunteering

We offer a variety of volunteering opportunities for you to get involved with Emmaus and learn more about our mission. Whether you’re interested in helping with yard work or painting at our homes, assisting with mailings or campaigns at our corporate office, or volunteering at events like Waves of Inspiration or the Emmaus Golf Tournament, there’s something for everyone. You can also participate in community fundraisers, such as the Public School House during the holidays, or spend time with our clients, engaging in activities they enjoy. Join us!

Giving

Fundraising is crucial, and there are many ways you can get involved! One impactful option is our Moment Makers program, which allows for monthly donations that provide steady support for our services. You can also participate in campaigns like Give STL Day, Giving Tuesday, or Year-End Giving. Additionally, consider more unconventional methods, such as checking if your employer offers a gift matching program, purchasing gift cards through Raise Right (where a portion of proceeds benefits Emmaus), or selecting a gift from our clients’ Amazon wishlist for the holidays. You can even create your own Facebook fundraiser! Anyway, you choose to support makes a difference!

3rd Party Fundraisers

In addition to our own events, Emmaus hosts several third-party fundraisers each year, with proceeds directly supporting our services. One option is Chick-fil-A or other restaurant fundraising nights, where a portion of your meal’s cost goes to Emmaus. We also participate in other events in the community and you can support Emmaus with your donation. Additionally, we have a partnership with Chicken N Pickle, where you can join our pickleball tournament—funds spent that night on food, drinks, and team registrations will benefit Emmaus.

Advocacy

Advocacy is vital for advancing rights and funding for individuals with developmental disabilities. Emmaus hosts several advocacy days that you can be part of. One such event is Coffee for Change, where you can join our Advocacy Director, clients, and staff at a local coffee shop to discuss current issues at the Capitol and learn about our advocacy efforts.
During our advocacy days, a group travels to the Missouri Capitol with our Advocacy Director to meet with legislators, sharing insights about the services Emmaus provides, the impact of Medicaid funding on our clients, and ways they can support increased funding. We also participate in DRLD days, a rally at the Capitol where we join clients to raise awareness for individuals with disabilities. When policy changes are needed, Emmaus prepares emails for Missouri legislators that we send out to our supporters for them to share with their personal legislators.
