The evening of November 20th was a very special night for some of the women of Emmaus…
The ladies from one of our community homes in St. Charles, MO attended the Community Living Sports Banquet. Awards given and prizes won were only a part of the fun-filled night! The first award of the evening, the 2019 Outstanding Achievement in Tuesday Bowling, was given to our very own Sheryl!
Then, Terri of Emmaus also received a 2019 Outstanding Achievement Award in Frontier Bowling.
The speeches given to them from Community Living’s Adult Recreation Program Coordinator for their achievements were as follows…
“This Tuesday bowler has been with the Adult Recreation program for a 18 years now and is a regular face at St. Charles Lanes. You can count on a warm greeting and a smile every time she walks through the bowling alley door. Each week she remains positive no matter how the pins fall. You can also expect a little healthy competition between her and her teammates. It is my pleasure to present the award for Outstanding Achievement in Tuesday bowling to the well deserving athlete… Sheryl”
“This year’s winner has been bowling with us for 14 years. She is competitive and determined each week to maintain her average. She is energetic and always has a positive attitude at the bowling alley. Even if her score for the day is not what she was hoping for, she is sure to congratulate and cheer on her teammates. She usually has a side bet with her staff member that she can beat their score and is always ready for her high fives for all her strikes and spares. Please join me in congratulating the winner of this year’s Outstanding Achievement for Saturday bowling at Frontier… Terri!”
Adding to the excitement, attendees of the event received 2 raffle tickets to be placed in a variety of donated “Sports” themed baskets. Excitement shined in Patrice’s face as her number was drawn for the basket she decided to put her tickets into, and she won a Glass Block of the 2019 Stanley Cup Champions, the St. Louis Blues!
Lastly, the night ended with our very own Sheryl hitting the dance floor.
Along with Emmaus team member Vickey, they both really enjoyed dancing to one of their favorite songs, the YMCA!
