Introducing Our New Advocacy Director, Christina Ingoglia

I want to introduce myself directly to the Emmaus Homes community. My name is Christina Ingoglia (please call me Christina), and I began working as the Advocacy Director at the end of August. I have been involved in disability advocacy for over 5 years. In my previous role at the St. Louis Arc, I oversaw and updated their respite program, which supported 1,500 families in the area. I helped found the Missouri Disability Empowerment Foundation and currently serve as President of the Board.

I am most looking forward to getting to know each of you—not just from behind a screen but live and up close. I will be traveling to as many of the residences Emmaus serves as I can, meeting our awesome clients and the amazing direct support staff who work with our clients. I will also be hosting Coffees for Change. Staff can bring clients and do this during their workdays, as your clients’ schedules allow. RSVP here to let me know if you plan to attend—so I can make sure we have enough coffee for everyone! These are open to anyone in the Emmaus Family. Eventually, we will invite elected officials to these as well.

Lastly, I want to share with you that this work is personal. I have a daughter with developmental disabilities, and I know that by working with each of you, I am ultimately making the world better for her, too. Thank you for the privilege of helping you advocate for your needs.
