Last week, our Chief Development Officer, Lisa Key, joined Julie Buck and Max Foize on The Big 550 KTRS to discuss the impact of Giving Tuesday and its significance for the more than 220 adults with developmental disabilities supported by Emmaus.
During the interview, Lisa shared how Emmaus empowers individuals to live independently in homes of their choosing across St. Louis, St. Charles, Warren, and Franklin counties. She spoke about the growing need for adaptive technology, the importance of accessible communication tools, and the ongoing funding gap Emmaus works to close each year so every person we support can thrive.
Lisa also highlighted Jessica, a young woman served by Emmaus who communicates using a head-mounted device and touchscreen. Stories like hers remind us why Giving Tuesday matters—not just as a day of giving, but as a day of community, connection, and championing independence.
If you missed the interview, we invite you to take a moment to listen. It’s a powerful look at how your support changes lives.
